This artwork by John Constable achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2020. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work The Old Mill Shed, Dedham sold for GBP 262,500.00 (€ 293,235.90) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Constable achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View on the Stour near Dedham, full-scale sketch in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 14,082,500.00 (€ 16,903,595.45).
