Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Constable achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Colliers unloading on Hove Beach, looking towards Shoreham, Brighton sold for GBP 813,600.00 (€ 970,454.14) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Constable achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View on the Stour near Dedham, full-scale sketch in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 14,082,500.00 (€ 16,903,595.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Constable erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Colliers unloading on Hove Beach, looking towards Shoreham, Brighton für GBP 813.600,00 (€ 970.454,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Constable erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View on the Stour near Dedham, full-scale sketch im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.082.500,00 (€ 16.903.595,45).
