Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunset, 2000 by John Coburn was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November this year. It changed hands for a price of AUD 541.20 (€ 328.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 300.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Icon, 1970 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 387,450.00 (€ 343,271.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sunset, 2000 von John Coburn kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 541,20 (€ 328,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 300,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Icon, 1970 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 387.450,00 (€ 343.271,02).
