Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Australian Art Online, which included the work Sapphire Landscape by John Coburn. It changed hands for a price of AUD 5,904.00 (€ 3,579.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Icon, 1970 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 387,450.00 (€ 343,271.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Australian Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sapphire Landscape von John Coburn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 5.904,00 (€ 3.579,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Icon, 1970 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 387.450,00 (€ 343.271,02).
