Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Australian Art Online, which included the work Bird in the Garden, 2004 by John Coburn. The price achieved of AUD 492.00 (€ 298.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 300.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Icon, 1970 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 387,450.00 (€ 343,271.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Australian Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird in the Garden, 2004 von John Coburn zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 492,00 (€ 298,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 300,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Coburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Icon, 1970 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 387.450,00 (€ 343.271,02).
