In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Men of War off the South Foreland sold for GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,171.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cleveley the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views In The South Seas (4) in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 318,850.00 (€ 464,524.16).
