This price was achieved in the auction Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by John Butler Yeats have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self Portrait, New York in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,269.87).
