In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit, which included the work Three Girls Listening To Music by John Butler Yeats. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,450.00 (€ 10,420.16), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Butler Yeats have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self Portrait, New York in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,269.87).

Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Girls Listening To Music von John Butler Yeats zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 10.420,16) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Butler Yeats auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self Portrait, New York im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 99.269,87).
