Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit, which included the work A Haunted Chamber by John Butler Yeats. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,557.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Butler Yeats achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, New York in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,269.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Haunted Chamber von John Butler Yeats zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.557,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Butler Yeats erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, New York im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 99.269,87).
