wood engraving, 1930, on cream wove paper, with stamped signature, numbered 33/75, possibly from a later edition (Christopher Buckland Wright does not record an edition of 75 but calls for an edition of 20 of which only ten prints were pulled), with margins, soft creasing at the upper sheet edge, otherwise in good condition

Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Composition (Buckland Wright L56) by John Buckland Wright. The price achieved of GBP 239.00 (€ 355.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Admittedly, works by John Buckland Wright have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Special No. 5 (Wright A23) in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,231.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition (Buckland Wright L56) von John Buckland Wright zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 239,00 (€ 355,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Buckland Wright auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Special No. 5 (Wright A23) im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.231,90).
