Despite a disappointment, a good price for John Brett
In February 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Pearly Summer by John Brett for GBP 144,150.00 (€ 210,454.45). This price was achieved in the auction THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 180,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Pearly Summer is the most expensive artwork by John Brett that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für John Brett
Im Februar 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pearly Summer von John Brett für GBP 144.150,00 (€ 210.454,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 180.000,00 – 250.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Pearly Summer das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Brett, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
