Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The Macedonian and the United States, 25th October, 1812; and The Java and the Constitution, 29th December, 1812 (both illustrated) by John Bentham-Dinsdale. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,662.81) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by John Bentham-Dinsdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work H.M.S. Crescent, under the command of Captain James Saumarez, capturing the French frigate Réunion off Cherbourg, 20 October 1793 in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,521.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Macedonian and the United States, 25th October, 1812; and The Java and the Constitution, 29th December, 1812 (both illustrated) von John Bentham-Dinsdale zur Versteigerung kam. Crescent, under the command of Captain James Saumarez, capturing the French frigate Réunion off Cherbourg, 20 October 1793 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.521,70).
