Auction result well in line with expectations

The work 'Morning light'- The barque Carradale by John Bentham-Dinsdale was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 934.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bentham-Dinsdale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work H.M.S. Crescent, under the command of Captain James Saumarez, capturing the French frigate Réunion off Cherbourg, 20 October 1793 in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,521.70).

Die Arbeit 'Morning light'- The barque Carradale von John Bentham-Dinsdale kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 934,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bentham-Dinsdale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit H.M.S.
