Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work At The Canal Turn, Grand National, 1910 by John Beer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,234.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Beer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Miss Dollar Wins, Royal Handicap, Sandown Park; Freemason Wins, Sandown Park; Leaving the Paddock, Sandown Park; Parade, Sandown Park in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93).
