In November 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session, which included the work Figure With Burden (Flesh/Exterior); Figure At Rest (Blue/Interior) by John Baldessari. The »bidding war« ended at USD 293,000.00 (€ 215,346.17), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Baldessari have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Commissioned Painting: A Painting By Edgar Transue in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,517,000.00 (€ 1,845,307.92).

Im November 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure With Burden (Flesh/Exterior); Figure At Rest (Blue/Interior) von John Baldessari zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 215.346,17) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Baldessari auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Commissioned Painting: A Painting By Edgar Transue im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.517.000,00 (€ 1.845.307,92).
