This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Armstrong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' sold at auction in April 2014 with the realized price of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 90,683.74).
