This artwork by John Armstrong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2011. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Fish in a Landscape sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,473.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Armstrong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 90,683.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Armstrong erzielte im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Fish in a Landscape für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.473,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Armstrong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.500,00 (€ 90.683,74).
