This artwork by John Anster Fitzgerald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work In Memoriam sold for GBP 31,800.00 (€ 36,178.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Anster Fitzgerald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of) in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 364,233.89).

In der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit In Memoriam für GBP 31.800,00 (€ 36.178,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Anster Fitzgerald erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of) im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 364.233,89).
