Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 158,500.00 (€ 128,956.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Anster Fitzgerald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of), which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 301,250.00 (€ 364,233.89).
