In March this year Bonhams held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work A flower fairy by John Anster Fitzgerald. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 25,500.00 (€ 29,011.18), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Anster Fitzgerald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of) in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 364,233.89).

Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A flower fairy von John Anster Fitzgerald zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 25.500,00 (€ 29.011,18) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Anster Fitzgerald erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of) im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 364.233,89).
