Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian, which included the work Fairyland by John Anster Fitzgerald. The price achieved of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 36,552.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Anster Fitzgerald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of) in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 364,233.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fairyland von John Anster Fitzgerald zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 36.552,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Anster Fitzgerald auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of) im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 364.233,89).
