Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Fairies and a bird's nest by John Anster Fitzgerald. The price achieved of GBP 59,750.00 (€ 93,565.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Anster Fitzgerald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dream After The Masked Ball (The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of), which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 301,250.00 (€ 364,233.89).
