Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Alexander achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2015. In the Interiors auction, the work The Yellow Jacket sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,037.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Alexander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Good Fences Make Good Neighbors, which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,947.41).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Alexander erzielte im April 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Interiors wurde die Arbeit The Yellow Jacket für USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.037,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Alexander mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Good Fences Make Good Neighbors beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.947,41) versteigert wurde.
