Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Janson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work River Landscape With Drawbridge; River Landscape With Windmill, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 28,000.00 (€ 18,866.65).

Die Arbeit A river landscape with figures by an embankment von Johannes Janson kam im November 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Janson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit River Landscape With Drawbridge; River Landscape With Windmill beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 28.000,00 (€ 18.866,65) versteigert wurde.
