Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A river landscape with a drover and his cattle, a windmill beyond by Johannes Janson was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,062.00 (€ 1,229.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Janson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work River Landscape With Drawbridge; River Landscape With Windmill in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 28,000.00 (€ 18,866.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A river landscape with a drover and his cattle, a windmill beyond von Johannes Janson im September 2016 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.062,00 (€ 1.229,93) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Janson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit River Landscape With Drawbridge; River Landscape With Windmill im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.000,00 (€ 18.866,65).
