Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pulling in nets at sunset by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,673.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 257,444.00 (€ 123,564.63).
