Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Dutch ships On The Ij, With The Westertoren In The Distance by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 37,343.68). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 257,444.00 (€ 123,564.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Dutch ships On The Ij, With The Westertoren In The Distance von Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 37.343,68) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 257.444,00 (€ 123.564,63) versteigert wurde.
