In May 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work A two master at risk near the harbour entrance by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,750.00 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 257,444.00 (€ 123,564.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) durch, in der auch die Arbeit A two master at risk near the harbour entrance von Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.750,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit De gestrande boot: a beached three-master with beachcombers along the shore im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 257.444,00 (€ 123.564,63).
