Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Leonore Discovering The Dagger Left By Alonzo by Henry Fuseli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 310,000.00 (€ 286,189.07), 24% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leonore Discovering The Dagger Left By Alonzo von Henry Fuseli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 310.000,00 (€ 286.189,07) und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The incubus leaving two young women im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.510.000,00 (€ 3.038.434,90).
