Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A naked warrior repelling soldiers at the entrance to a tent, one woman interceding, another collapsing, manacled to a post by Henry Fuseli was sold in the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 9,027.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).

Die Arbeit A naked warrior repelling soldiers at the entrance to a tent, one woman interceding, another collapsing, manacled to a post von Henry Fuseli wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 9.027,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The incubus leaving two young women im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.510.000,00 (€ 3.038.434,90).
