This artwork by Henry Fuseli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March last year. In the Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art auction, the work A nude male figure, seated on a step sold for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,938.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry Fuseli erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art wurde die Arbeit A nude male figure, seated on a step für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.938,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The incubus leaving two young women im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.510.000,00 (€ 3.038.434,90).
