This artwork by Henry Fuseli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January this year. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work An Old Prophet Preaching sold for USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,208.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).

Safra - Selling Without Reserve wurde die Arbeit An Old Prophet Preaching für USD 25.200,00 (€ 23.208,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen.
