In January 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work The Vision of Orestes by Henry Fuseli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 218,750.00 (€ 176,013.84), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).

Im Januar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Vision of Orestes von Henry Fuseli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 218.750,00 (€ 176.013,84) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The incubus leaving two young women im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.510.000,00 (€ 3.038.434,90).
