Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th CenturyEuropean Art, which included the work Gezicht op Haarlem: a panoramic view of Haarlem with the St. Bavokerk in the distance by Jan Weissenbruch. The price achieved of EUR 49,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Weissenbruch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day, which sold at auction in April 2001 for NLG 345,000.00 (€ 158,348.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th CenturyEuropean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gezicht op Haarlem: a panoramic view of Haarlem with the St. Bavokerk in the distance von Jan Weissenbruch zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 49.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Weissenbruch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day beobachtet, die im April 2001 für NLG 345.000,00 (€ 158.348,55) versteigert wurde.
