Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boerderij Hanenburg in de Westduinen te 's-Gravenhage: the Hanenburg farm, The Hague by Jan Weissenbruch was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Weissenbruch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 345,000.00 (€ 158,348.55).
