The work Along the towpath by Jan Weissenbruch was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2017. The result of EUR 5,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Weissenbruch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 345,000.00 (€ 158,348.55).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Along the towpath von Jan Weissenbruch kam im Juni 2017 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 5.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Weissenbruch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 345.000,00 (€ 158.348,55).
