Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The East Meadows, Northampton, Massachusetts by Joel Sternfeld was auctioned at Phillips in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,680.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joel Sternfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On This Site: Landscape In Memoriam, 1993-1996 in April 2004 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 77,518.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The East Meadows, Northampton, Massachusetts von Joel Sternfeld kam im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.680,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joel Sternfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On This Site: Landscape In Memoriam, 1993-1996 im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 77.518,99).
