Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work The Pacific Queen on the high seas (ex. Balclutha, Star of Alaska) by Joe Duncan Gleason for USD 5,700.00 (€ 4,775.47). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Joe Duncan Gleason have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,735.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Pacific Queen on the high seas (ex. Balclutha, Star of Alaska) von Joe Duncan Gleason für USD 5.700,00 (€ 4.775,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion California and Western Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joe Duncan Gleason auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.075,00 (€ 22.735,52).
