Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Tamazunchale, Mexico by Joe Duncan Gleason for USD 382.50 (€ 312.76). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joe Duncan Gleason achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,735.52).
