Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work East Basin, San Pedro and U.S. Coast Guard Cutter 'Bear' (a group of two) by Joe Duncan Gleason. It changed hands for a price of USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,800.30) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joe Duncan Gleason have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,735.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit East Basin, San Pedro and U.S. Coast Guard Cutter 'Bear' (a group of two) von Joe Duncan Gleason zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.800,30) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joe Duncan Gleason auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.075,00 (€ 22.735,52).
