The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,287.50 (€ 7,865.14), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joe Duncan Gleason - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in, which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,735.52).

Die Arbeit Running her Westing Down von Joe Duncan Gleason wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 7.865,14) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Joe Duncan Gleason mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in beobachtet, die im März 2020 für USD 25.075,00 (€ 22.735,52) versteigert wurde.
