The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,287.50 (€ 7,865.14), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joe Duncan Gleason - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Avalon Bay, Catalina from the West 16 x 20in, which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 25,075.00 (€ 22,735.52).
