Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Puerto De Guetaria, País Vasco (The Basque Port Of Guetaria) by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida. It changed hands for a price of GBP 325,000.00 (€ 356,828.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,603,912.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Puerto De Guetaria, País Vasco (The Basque Port Of Guetaria) von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 325.000,00 (€ 356.828,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.737.250,00 (€ 4.603.912,82).
