Upper estimate price exceeded by 50 %.
The work Feuilles éparses: One Plate (D. 119; cf. C. books 99) by Joan Miró was sold in the OLD MASTER, MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY PRINTS auction at Christies in London in December 2000. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,240.94), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Miró achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture (Étoile Bleue) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 23,561,250.00 (€ 29,174,436.97).
