Despite a disappointment, a good price for Joan Colom
In July 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work 'El Raval' by Joan Colom for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,153.61). This price was achieved in the auction CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, 'El Raval' is the most expensive artwork by Joan Colom that we have observed at auction so far.
