Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Diana by Joachim Wtewael. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 42,749.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joachim Wtewael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,633,250.00 (€ 5,901,515.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Diana von Joachim Wtewael zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 42.749,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joachim Wtewael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.633.250,00 (€ 5.901.515,18).
