Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Charity by Joachim Wtewael was sold in the Old Master Paintings Part II auction at Christies in New York in January 2013. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,843.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joachim Wtewael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,633,250.00 (€ 5,901,515.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Charity von Joachim Wtewael wurde im Januar 2013 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Part II bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 74.500,00 (€ 54.843,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joachim Wtewael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mars and Venus Surprised by Vulcan im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.633.250,00 (€ 5.901.515,18).
