Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy in Qi Script by Jin Nong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 35,616.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jin Nong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Qi Script in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 7,520,000.00 (€ 878,536.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy in Qi Script von Jin Nong im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 300.000,00 (€ 35.616,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jin Nong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Qi Script im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.520.000,00 (€ 878.536,50).
