Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Buddha by Jin Nong was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 937,500.00 (€ 99,100.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Jin Nong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Qi Script in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 7,520,000.00 (€ 878,536.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Buddha von Jin Nong wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 937.500,00 (€ 99.100,99) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jin Nong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Qi Script im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.520.000,00 (€ 878.536,50).
