This artwork by Jimmie Durham achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2015. In the Post-War and Contemporary auction, the work Articles 2 & 3 from the 1986 - Pinkerton's Agency Manual sold for EUR 23,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jimmie Durham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Apache -Rg16 G-8-13”Sch40-Pvc-1120 Nsf-81-D-1785-260Ps1@73°F in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 168,176.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jimmie Durham erzielte im April 2015 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary wurde die Arbeit Articles 2 & 3 from the 1986 - Pinkerton's Agency Manual für EUR 23.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jimmie Durham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Apache -Rg16 G-8-13”Sch40-Pvc-1120 Nsf-81-D-1785-260Ps1@73°F im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 168.176,52).
