Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jim Nutt could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work I Can't! changed hands for USD 100,000.00 (€ 88,597.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Nutt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Tooth" in October last year with an auction result of SEK 10,500,000.00 (€ 960,791.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jim Nutt konnte im November 2021 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit I Can't! für USD 100.000,00 (€ 88.597,50) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Nutt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Tooth" im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 10.500.000,00 (€ 960.791,22).
